The Greater Fairfield Amateur Radio Association (FARA) is located in Fairfield, Connecticut. We are a group of amateur radio operators of all license classes who meet to share their experiences and knowledge of radio equipment and operation and to have fun in the process. Members come from Fairfield and surrounding towns such as Trumbull, Bridgeport, Stratford and Shelton.

We have a shack located at the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Station on Jennings Beach. The shack includes HF, VHF/UHF and DMR capabilities. The club owns and maintains both a VHF and a UHF repeater. We hold a weekly chat session (see the Home page) on the repeaters.

The club supports community events such as the annual Fairfield half-marathon and assists the local American Red Cross chapter in their communications needs. We participate in both the annual ARRL summer and Winter field days. The club also periodically holds a technician license class for prospective ham operators.

FARA is a 501(c)(3) organization and we welcome your donations which may be tax deductible.
